Clinical Product Specialist / Informaticist
Evidently
About Evidently
Evidently is the leading clinical data intelligence platform transforming how healthcare organizations turn patient record data into actionable insights. We help reduce clinical burnout while improving patient care quality and financial outcomes. Our AI-assisted platform integrates directly into EHRs, serving hospital quality & revenue teams, value-based care organizations, emergency medicine, and perioperative teams across the United States.
We build tools that drive results for clinicians and health systems. A recent study at University of Iowa Health Care showed a 31.7-point increase in Net EHR Experience Score following integration of our platform. Allina Health recently saw a 6x ROI after integrating Evidently. And every day we hear new stories about how providers supercharge the work they do with clinical data intelligence.
The Role
At Evidently, the Clinical Product Specialist sits at the intersection of medicine, patient care, AI development, and product excellence. You are the clinical conscience of our product—the person who ensures that what we build is not only technically sound but deeply, meaningfully useful for the clinicians and health systems we serve.
You will own clinical quality reviews, serve as an embedded consultant to our engineering and product teams, and bring the lens of direct patient care to every feature we ship. You’ll partner with our clinical success teams to ensure what we’re building directly meets the needs of users. You won’t just provide feedback—within three months of joining, you’ll be expected to independently own and drive clinical product features from conception through delivery. This is a builder’s role for a clinician who has moved beyond the bedside and wants to shape the future of healthcare AI at its source.
Who You’ll Work With
• You will join a deeply mission-driven team, working closely with colleagues who share a goal of giving superpowers to clinicians to improve patient care.
• You will collaborate daily with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to translate clinical reality into product requirements—and back again.
• Team members located around the San Francisco Bay Area come to the office once or more weekly. While relocation is encouraged, this role can be hybrid or remote with quarterly meet-ups for remote workers. This role involves up to 20% travel.
• You must be able to work during core hours in the Pacific time zone. For compliance reasons, we cannot employ you outside the United States.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Quality Ownership
• Lead and own clinical quality reviews across product features and AI outputs, defining the standards by which we measure clinical accuracy, safety, and utility.
• Build and maintain evaluation frameworks for assessing AI tool performance in clinical contexts—including edge cases, failure modes, and real-world workflow fit.
• Serve as the final clinical voice on quality decisions before feature releases, ensuring what we ship reflects the standard of care our users depend on.
• Proactively identify clinical risk areas in new features and work with engineering to resolve them upstream.
2. Product & Engineering Partnership
• Act as an embedded clinical consultant to product and engineering teams—present in planning, sprint reviews, and design discussions to provide real-time clinical input.
• Translate complex clinical workflows, documentation standards, and care delivery realities into precise, actionable product requirements.
• Partner with product to shape roadmap priorities based on clinical impact, quality gaps, and clinician feedback from the field.
• Bridge the gap between what’s technically possible and what’s clinically meaningful—consistently pushing both sides toward the best outcome.
- Willingness to dive deep into nitty gritties (validating lab reference ranges, eg) PLUS ability to see big picture to ensure clinicians and healthcare systems as a whole are deriving value
3. Independent Feature Ownership
• Within three months of starting, own and drive clinical product features independently—from initial scoping through stakeholder alignment, development support, and launch.
• Set your own bar for what ‘done’ means on the features you own, and hold the team to it.
• Identify unmet clinical needs and propose new features or improvements before they become customer pain points.
4. AI Fluency & Evaluation
• Actively use and evaluate clinical and consumer AI tools as part of your day-to-day practice—staying sharp on the frontier of what’s possible and what’s actually useful.
• Contribute to the design and ongoing refinement of evaluation frameworks, including clinical accuracy benchmarks, inaccuracy detection, and workflow integration assessments.
• Translate evaluation findings into concrete product improvements, working directly with engineering to close gaps.
5. Clinical Evidence & Narrative
• Proactively surface clinical wins—quantitative and qualitative—that demonstrate real-world product impact, and advocate for their visibility internally and externally.
• Partner with growth and marketing to translate clinical findings into compelling, credible narratives that resonate with healthcare leaders without sacrificing clinical integrity.
Qualifications
• Clinical Background: Direct patient care experience is required. MD, DO, RN, NP, PA, PharmD, or equivalent—you must have cared for patients and carry that perspective into everything you build.
• Builder Experience: You’ve worked in a startup or commercial team building, evaluating, and/or shipping tools.
• AI Fluency: Proficient in current consumer and/or clinical AI tools. You use them, you evaluate them, you have opinions about what makes them good or bad.
• Evaluation Mindset: Familiar with evaluation frameworks for AI or clinical tools—how to define quality, measure it, and act on what you find.
• Clinical Quality Understanding: Demonstrated understanding of clinical quality, patient safety, and what it means for a tool to meet the standard of care.
• Cross-Domain Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication. Able to navigate a peer-review session with a researcher, a sprint planning meeting with an engineering lead, and a creative brief with a marketing director with equal fluency.
Preferred Qualifications
• Clinical research experience, including familiarity with study design, outcomes measurement, and evidence synthesis.
• Understanding of healthcare economics, quality metrics (MIPS/HEDIS), value-based care models, and reimbursement structures.
• Experience building, evaluating, or contributing to clinical AI products or decision support tools.
• Data literacy: comfort with data analysis, clinical informatics, and working directly with structured clinical data.
• Experience working in a distributed or remote-first environment, with strong async communication practices and proficiency with modern collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Confluence, Jira, Figma, Notion, or similar)
What Makes You a Great Fit
• You have the Startup DNA this work demands: self-directed, fast-moving, and energized by building from scratch. You don’t wait for a roadmap—you help draw it.
• You are a systems thinker with clinical instincts. You can trace a product decision back to its impact on a patient three steps downstream.
• You own your work completely—quality reviews, feature decisions, and cross-functional relationships alike.
• You are obsessed with making clinical data actionable and useful for frontline providers, and you bring that obsession to every conversation.
• You can turn raw data into a story a CEO wants to hear and a researcher wants to cite.
• You're a team player. You jump in to help others when you see a need; you get energy from collaboration; you prioritize collective success over individual gain.
• You have a growth mindset. You're eager to both learn and teach. You are passionately curious about how we can make healthcare better.
Compensation
• Base: $160,000–$225,000 annually depending on experience and location.
• Performance-based bonuses and equity compensation are included as part of the package.
• Flexible work environment and competitive benefits.
